SS MILO

With a size of 74 x 9 meters, SS MILO was built as a passenger steamship in 1865.  Having taken service with British Admiralty upon the outbreak of the World War I, the ship was used to transport supplies to the troops in Anzac Cove in Arıburnu during the war.  On 26 October 1915, it was filled with concrete to fix it in order to protect the ships approaching to the coast, which was an exposed area, and equipped with generators to light the coast up through projectors. The ship was used for this purpose until the end of the war, after which it was sunk during the retreat. Located at a depth of 5 to 7 meters, SS Milo keeps its form although it is largely damaged.

Required Equipment for Scuba Diving:

The equipment to be used for dives include diving mask, fins, weight, buoyancy vest, scuba tank, diving suit (3 to 5 mm depending on the season), regulator, gloves, 7 mm neoprene suit for the period from November to March, semi-dry or dry suit, as used in scuba diving and considered as basic equipment for diving, which are also the equipment you can use when diving in Gallipoli historical underwater park.
