HMS Louis

It is the wreck located at a depth of 13 meters on the north of Suvla Cove. It was adrift and gravelled during the Battle of Gallipoli due to the damage caused by the collision with a tow boat, on 30 October 1915 and became unemployable as it was broken into pieces during rescue efforts. Rescue efforts were only made at night time and it was painted in coherence with the rocky formation surrounding it so as to hide that it was not unemployable. It was thought that thus, Turkish forces would not target this destroyer.  A 45 meter part of this 82 meter long ship is on the surface of the sand with the rest lying under the sand. Being on the surface of the sand and an important point for divers to photograph with its diversity of fish and species, 4 Yarrov-type boilers of the wreck are in good condition.  

Required Equipment for Scuba Diving:

The equipment to be used for dives include diving mask, fins, weight, buoyancy vest, scuba tank, diving suit (3 to 5 mm depending on the season), regulator, gloves, 7 mm neoprene suit for the period from November to March, semi-dry or dry suit, as used in scuba diving and considered as basic equipment for diving, which are also the equipment you can use when diving in Gallipoli historical underwater park.
